We support local initiatives aiming to build resilience to climate change, with emphasis on sharing knowledge and experience in different ways. Our focus is adaptation to climate change by building resilience in situations where the most important challenges and risks are water related.
Process Facilitation, Coaching & Advice
Based on initial contacts with interested parties resulting in an intent to jointly build water wisdom for climate resilience at local levels, we help identify and advise on types and combinations of service that might be required, and provide advice and inputs for next steps e.g. the development of terms of reference for assignments. Upon request, we also facilitate contacts between local stakeholders, partners and resource persons to jointly specify the consultancy services required and advise on how these could be delivered, and my suggest knowledge centres and services providers that can be approached.
Consultancy services can concern combinations of strategic process design and facilitation, project- and programme development, action research design and documentation, coaching for developing video or photo stories, monitoring indicators, evaluation, and participatory learning and planning e.g. concerning climate risk analysis and containment.
Dialogue for Water & Climate Wisdom
In cooperation with network partners and resource persons in the countries concerned, we help to identify the focus and expected outcomes of water and climate dialogue in specific contexts. We provide expertise and share knowledge e.g. in terms of water governance principles, water and land management, risk management, as well as strategies to build climate resilience.
By definition, dialogues help to combine different perspectives, and typically build on local as well as external knowledge, experience and insights. As such, these are seen as an efficient way to learn and develop a common vision on future and build capacity for collective action to find ways out of challenging situations combining short, medium and long term outlooks.
Guidance for learning sessions & joint proposals
We help design and provide initial guidance for the organisation of short ( 1-3 days) tailor made thematic learning sessions and workshops based on expressed needs and preferences of stakeholders and participants.
Alternatively we are happy to cooperate and develop joint proposals for workshops and other sessions e.g. during international and regional conferences. cost covering basis implying the involvement of financing partners. Feel free to contact us and introduce what you have in mind e.g. the thematic focus, what is it meant to be achieved, the possible composition of the participant group, the occasion upon which the workshop is expected to take place, its length, and where is could take place.
Identify information sources & making them useful
We identify and suggest sources of knowledge and help in accessing open source information as a matter of routine professional practice. We provide short summaries and introductions to make thematic documents and data accessible, relevant and useable for civil society groups, entrepreneurs, knowledge centres and professionals, as well as local authorities.
Beyond this and on request we can offer targeted sourcing of knowledge and information as a service offered through specific partners at negotiated fee for a defined product, e.g. a powerpoint presentation or a report.
